Application Information

SUMMER COLLEGE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ADMISSIONS TIMELINE

  • The application for Summer 2024 opened on December 1, 2023.
  • The application for Summer 2024 will close May 15, 2024.

Applications are reviewed hollistically and decisions will be made on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle.  

APPLYING

  • Complete the Summer College for High School Students (labeled as Summer College for H.S.) application located on this page. Be sure to fill out the entire application!
    • If you are interested in the fun-sized course options, please select up to three preferences. When you submit the application, you are submitting an application to Summer College for High School Students as a whole rather than for individual programs. 
    • Be prepared to answer the following essay prompt: How would you benefit from completing summer courses at Purdue University?
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee ($60, unless eligible for a fee waiver).
  • After you submit the application, you must upload an unofficial or official high school transcript.
    • It is suggested to ask your school guidance counselor or registrar for an unofficial or official transcript that includes all grades since the first semester of 9th grade. A report card will not meet this requirement.  

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA AND INFORMATION FOR SUMMER COLLEGE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

  • Decisions are made based on a holistic review process, and admission is competitive. All applications are reviewed. However, priority consideration is given to students who:
    • Have a high school GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
    • Have completed grade level-appropriate college prep coursework that is included on the transcript.
    • Will be at least 16 years old and have completed the sophomore year of high school by the time Purdue coursework begins. Younger students may apply.
  • Students may enroll in a maximum of seven credit hours per academic term.
  • International students must already possess a visa that allows study in the U.S. to complete residential classes.
  • Proof of English proficiency for citizens of non-English speaking countries.

*Non-degree coursework is part of your permanent Purdue GPA. In addition, if you apply to a Purdue degree-seeking program in the future, we will use this and all college coursework in your application evaluation.
